Cervical lymph node dissection is usually indicated at the same time as thyroid surgery, however, in some cases, cervical lymph node dissection is not performed during tumor resection. In these cases, patients need to conduct lymph node dissection after surgery to limit and prevent metastasis of malignant cells.
