Avascular necrosis of the femoral head in children is a disease that primarily affects the hip joint in children. The main symptoms of this disease often include limping, pain in the hip, groin or front of the thigh. If not treated early, Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease can cause the bone to gradually weaken, break easily or be severely damaged.
