Understanding 47,XYY Syndrome
47,XYY syndrome, also known as Jacob syndrome, is a syndrome in which males have an extra Y chromosome compared to the normal (46,XY). Most males with this syndrome are taller than average and do not have other phenotypic abnormalities. These individuals develop normally, have normal testosterone levels, and are able to have children.
