Cervical myelopathy is a degenerative disease that occurs in older people (usually over 55 years old), characterized by compression of the cervical spinal cord by bone spurs, disc herniation, and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. The disease progresses slowly and silently with symptoms of stiff neck, arm pain, hand numbness, and progressive weakness of the limbs.
