Hand, foot and mouth disease is an acute infectious disease that commonly occurs in children under 10 years of age, especially those aged 3-5. Symptoms include fever, sore throat and a rash with blisters on the hands, feet and mouth that often progresses to ulcers. Lesions can be found on the tongue, gums and inside the cheeks.
