Coronary revascularization for patients with acute coronary syndrome
Coronary revascularization is a procedure used to treat severe obstructive coronary artery disease in acute coronary syndromes. This is the result of atherosclerosis, narrowing of large arteries and restricted blood supply to vital organs. Coronary artery disease in general, acute myocardial infarction in particular, reduces blood supply to the heart muscle and can lead to chest pain, heart attack, and sudden death if coronary artery is not opened in time.
