The advantage of MRI of the spine is that it provides completely objective, honest, and clear images to guide treatment, especially deciding whether or not to perform surgery. Images of lesions on the disc, articular cartilage, ligaments, synovial membrane, and subchondral bone layer are easily observed, especially when reconstructed on three-dimensional images.
