In which cases is cervical amputation indicated?
A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the cervix and the bottom of the vagina, removing some of the surrounding tissue, as well as the upper third of the vagina and the pelvic lymph nodes. The cervix is usually removed through the vagina (called RVT) or sometimes through an open abdominal surgery (called RAT).
