Astaxanthin is a carotenoid pigment found in salmon, microalgae, yeast, and shrimp, among other marine organisms. It is most commonly found in Pacific salmon and gives the fish a pinkish color. The antioxidant astaxanthin has been linked to a variety of health benefits.
