Ventolin nebules is an aerosol drug with the main active ingredient being salbutamol, also known as albuterol, prescribed by doctors to treat many cases of respiratory failure in adults and children.

Accordingly, Salbutamol is a synthetic amino acid that has a sympathetic nerve-like effect that relaxes the smooth muscles of the respiratory tract, thereby dilating the bronchi, helping to improve symptoms of difficulty breathing due to bronchospasm.

Ventolin nebules is an aerosol drug, so it is contraindicated to use Ventolin nebules orally or intravenously. To use it properly, Ventolin nebules must be used with a nebulizer, with a mask or through an endotracheal tube to deliver the drug. Ventolin nebules need to be properly stored to ensure quality and safety when used. Accordingly, the drug needs to be protected from light by keeping it in an aluminum blister. Currently, Ventolin nebules 2.5mg is packaged in an aluminum blister pack of 5 tubes. Only open one aluminum blister pack at a time, use up all 5 tubes before opening the next aluminum blister pack. Always put the medicine tray (with the aluminum lid closed) back in the box after use. In addition, after opening the aluminum blister, it is necessary to note:

  • Record the opening date.
  • Add 3 months to the opening date, which is the date when the Ventolin nebules 2.5mg blister pack must be discarded if all the tubes in it are not used up.
    Write the date when the blister pack must be discarded in the reserved space on the aluminum lid and all remaining tubes in the blister pack must be discarded after that date.

During the use of Ventolin nebules, patients may experience tremors, rapid heartbeat, headache, hypokalemia, more seriously, atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction, diabetic acidosis, pulmonary edema, paradoxical bronchospasm.

Unlike many other drugs, Ventolin nebules can still be used for pregnant and breastfeeding women. However, the dosage of Ventolin nebules is quite variable and must be prescribed by a doctor. Therefore, to ensure effectiveness, patients need to strictly follow the instructions and dosage prescribed by the doctor.
