Uses of Midagentin

1. What is Midagentin?

Midagentin belongs to the group of drugs that treat parasites, antivirals, antifungals, and anti-infectives. The drug is manufactured by Minh Dan Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company - MD Pharco. The main ingredients of Midagentin are Amoxicillin 250mg and Clavulanic Acid 31.25mg. Midagentin is available as a powder for oral suspension.

2. What does Midagentin do?


Uses of Midagentin medicine to support the treatment of infections caused by bacteria such as:
Patients with upper respiratory tract infections, treated with common antibiotics, can't be cured: Sinusitis, tonsillitis, otitis media ,...; Patients with lower respiratory tract infections: Pneumonia, acute and chronic bronchitis,...; Patients with severe urinary-genital infections, mainly caused by E.coli strains: urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis,...; Patients with soft tissue and skin infections: Insect stings, boils, cellulitis,...; Patients with infections of joints and bones: Typically osteomyelitis; Patients with dental infections: Alveolar abscess; Other infections: Abdominal infections, miscarriage - abortion, obstetrics,... Patients with allergies, hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the drug; Patients with a history of impaired liver function and jaundice; Patients allergic to beta-lactam antibiotics; Patients with cross-allergy to Cephalosporin antibiotics.

3. Dosage and how to use Midagentin


Dosage of Midagentin:
For adults and children > 40 kg: Normal kidney function: Take 80mg/kg body weight, 3 times/day. In case of patients with renal failure: Glomerular filtration rate greater than 30ml/min: Keep the same dosage as above; Glomerular filtration rate from 10 to 30ml/min: Take 15mg/kg body weight, 2 times/day; Glomerular filtration rate less than 10ml/min: Drink no more than 15mg/kg body weight/day; Hemodialysis: Oral 15mg/kg body weight/day. For children < 40 kg: Depending on the level of infection, children take 20-40mg/kg body weight, 3 times/day. How to use Midagentin:
Patients absolutely do not use Midagentin for more than 14 days; Take the medicine at the beginning of the meal, cut the pill pack, pour the powder into a cup, add 5-10ml of water and stir well.

4. Side effects of the drug Midagentin


In addition to the use of Midagentin, patients need to pay attention to side effects for timely adjustment and safe handling.
Common side effects:
Patients have diarrhea, nausea and vomiting; skin rash, itchy skin; Candida infection. Uncommon side effects
Eosinophilia; Hepatitis , cholestatic jaundice; Headache; Indigestible; Rash, itchy skin; Vaginitis in women caused by Candida bacteria, fever, body fatigue. Rare side effects:
Anaphylactic reactions; Platelets, white blood cells are slightly reduced, anemia; Stevens - Johnson syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis, skin necrosis, ...; Risk of interstitial nephritis.

5. Midagentin drug interactions


Midagentin can cause interactions with the following drugs if used simultaneously:
Midagentin prolongs blood clotting time, bleeding. Consideration with patients on anticoagulants; Midagentin reduces the effectiveness of oral contraceptives; Midagentin drug causes patients to increase blood uric acid when used with fusidic acid, 500mg Tetracycline,...; Midagentin increases hematopoietic and gastrointestinal toxicity.

6. How to handle missed dose – Midagentin overdose


How to handle when you miss a dose or use an overdose of Midagentin as follows:
Forgot a dose of Midagentin
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if the missed dose is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose; Absolutely do not double the dose to make up for the forgotten dose Midagentin overdose:
