1. Uses of Ketoconazole 200mg


Indications:
Local fungal infections (after no results of local treatment) Chronic and severe skin and mucosal candidiasis. Chronic urinary and vaginal candidiasis. Gastrointestinal fungal infections. Fungal infections of the skin and nails. Systemic fungal infections include Candida, Blastomyces, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, Paracoccidioides. Prophylaxis of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients. Dosage - How to take
Drink during or after eating.
Adults: Take 1-2 tablets, once a day.
Children:
children weighing 15-30kg: take 1/2 tablet, once a day children weighing over 30kg: the same dose as adults. Period of use from 2 weeks to several months. Treatment should be continued and continued for at least 1 week after all symptoms have disappeared and cultures have been negative.
Overdose and management
In case of overdose, supportive measures should be applied including gastric lavage with Sodium bicarbonate.

2. Side effects of Ketoconazole 200mg

Avoid taking Ketoconazole with drugs metabolised in the liver such as: Terfenadine, Astemizole, Cisapride, Domperidone, Midazolam, and Triazolam, Domperidone, Pimozide, Quinidine, statins such as Atorvastatin and Simvastatin. Drugs that reduce gastric acid such as antacids, antacids, H2 antihistamines, proton pump inhibitors or Sucralfate: reduce the absorption of Ketoconazole. These drugs should be taken at least 2 hours after taking Ketoconazole. Rifampicin and Isoniazid: reduce the serum concentration of Ketoconazole. Cyclosporine: Ketoconazole increases the blood concentration of Cyclosporine.

Contraindications
