3. Usage and dosage of Ambroxol Boston


Usage: The drug is taken orally and the patient takes it with water. You should take the drug after meals to avoid affecting the stomach.
Dosage:
Adults and children > 12 years old: Use 30mg x 3 times/day or use 60mg x 2 times/day. Then, after about 4-5 days, the dose should be reduced to a maintenance dose of 15mg / time and taken 3 times or 30mg / time 2 times a day. Children from 6 to 12 years old: Use 30mg and use 2 times / day. Then halve the dose for prolonged use. Children under 6 years of age: Tablets are not suitable for this age, should use other dosage forms to make it easier to use. For patients with severe acute respiratory disease or initiating treatment in patients with chronic respiratory disease, higher doses can be used, for 10-12 days. The duration of subsequent maintenance therapy depends on the patient's condition. If prolonged, lower dose should be reduced.

When used together with drugs that have an antitussive effect (such as Codeine) will reduce the ability of the drug to produce sputum or loosen bronchial secretions, thereby causing airway obstruction.
