1. What is Bristopen?


Bristopen is a brand name drug with the active ingredient being the sodium salt of Oxacillin, manufactured by Bristol Myers Squibb. Oxacillin is an antibiotic belonging to the penicillin group, belonging to the beta-lactam group, with bactericidal action.

2. In what cases is Bristopen indicated for use?

Bristopen (Oxacillin) is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by penicillinase-resistant strains of Staphylococci, including respiratory, skin, bone, joint, urinary tract infections, meningitis, and bacteremia.
Restrictions on indications: Oxacillin should not be used in infections with penicillin G susceptible organisms.

3. How to use and dose of Bristopen?


Bristopen is available for intravenous, intramuscular and infusion administration.
