Choking in the neck is gastroesophageal reflux?

Ask
Hello doctor,
I am 29 years old this year. My symptoms are just full in the neck, the feeling that food can't go down. I can't eat when I'm full, when I'm hungry, I can't burp, no pain at all, just full in the neck. So the doctor asked me if the choking in the neck is gastroesophageal reflux? Thank you doctor.

Hello,
With the question “Is choking in the neck due to gastroesophageal reflux? , the doctor would like to answer as follows:
Your symptoms may be due to gastroesophageal reflux but also other diseases such as thyroid disease, ENT. If these conditions have been ruled out, you can treat reflux for 4 weeks and assess response to treatment.
If you still have questions about choking in the neck, you can go to the hospital of Vinmec Health System for further examination and advice. Thank you for trusting and sending questions to Vinmec. Wishing you lots of health.
Best regards!
