Tapeworm is a human parasite that is relatively common in Asian countries and areas with poor sanitation. People get infected with tapeworm by eating undercooked meat that has tapeworm cysts.

Infection with pork tapeworm larvae is more dangerous than infection with adult tapeworms, because tapeworm larvae can parasitize in the brain, causing serious consequences. Eating undercooked pork infected with tapeworms is the cause of infection with pork tapeworms.
