Diabetes insipidus of renal origin
Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) is a disorder of water reabsorption in the renal tubules. The cause is due to the renal tubules' reduced ability to respond to the hormone vasopressin (ADH), leading to the secretion of large and dilute urine. Diabetes insipidus can be hereditary or secondary to diseases that reduce the kidney's ability to concentrate urine.
