Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine is a key specialty under the Vinmec Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Center, gathering leading experts in surgery, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, nutrition, and psychology to comprehensively and systematically develop sports medicine based on the principle of "personalization."

In March 2022, Vinmec Sports Medicine became the official medical sponsor for the Vietnam National Football Teams. By April 2024, the center was certified as an AFC Medical Center of Excellence, recognizing its contributions to national sports.

Motion Analysis Lab: Uses high-tech systems to record and analyze kinematic, kinetic, muscular strength, neuroelectrical activity, and body composition data, helping to create personalized treatment or training plans, reducing injury risk, and enhancing sports performance.
"Anatomical Mapping" Method: Uses 3D imaging technology to analyze healthy ligament parameters, creating a "mirror design" for torn ligaments, enabling surgeons to reconstruct personalized ligaments with high precision.

3D technology international

This research and development unit for 3D technology meets the international standards of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 for medical device manufacturing, equipped with the most modern facilities in the region. Routine applications produced at the 3D Lab include printing pathological models to support diagnosis, treatment, and medical education, designing digital surgical plans, and creating precision surgical navigation devices used in various surgeries such as orthopedics, cardiology, maxillofacial, urology, etc.

In collaboration with VinUni

In collaboration with the 3D Technology in Medicine Center – VinUni: To effectively serve patient treatment, the specialists and doctors of the Vinmec Orthopedic Trauma and Sports Medicine Center have collaborated with engineers from VinUni University to establish the 3D Technology in Medicine Center.

Currently, doctors at the center are working with 3D Lab engineers to research, design, and successfully manufacture personalized implants and artificial bone-joint devices from various biocompatible materials, tailored to the anthropometric characteristics of Vietnamese people.

Motion Analysis Lab

This lab allows patients with motor issues, athletes, and sports enthusiasts to evaluate the function of individual muscles and their response to daily activities and training using dynamic cameras and force sensors for precise, visual analysis. This contributes to effective post-injury recovery, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.

Bone Cancer Research Lab in Japan:

Vinmec collaborates with Osaka Metropolitan University (Japan) to establish the Vinmec-Osaka Innovation in Medicine Lab, conducting research on tissue and blood samples from Vietnamese patients to directly apply findings in monitoring and treating bone cancer. This innovative approach aims to improve prognosis and treatment for Vietnamese bone cancer patients.
