Preventing Risks of Falling in the Hospital

To ensure your safety throughout the treatment period, medical staff will regularly assess your risk of falling and provide information on prevention to both you and your family upon admission. They will also guide you on how to use the equipment in your hospital room. Doctors will explain the side effects of medications that may increase the risk of falling, such as: low blood pressure, muscle stiffness, or impairment of the central nervous system (dementia, delirium, etc.). If you are at high risk of falling, the nursing staff will place a "FALL RISK" warning wristband on your wrist to ensure you receive assistance whenever needed. Additionally, the hospital provides fall prevention equipment, including hospital beds, bed rails, wheelchairs, and crutches as required by medical professionals.

Calling for Nurse Assistance

Whenever you need assistance, you can press the "Call Bell" button located at your bedside for two-way communication with the nursing staff. If you need help in the restroom, pull the "Call Bell" cord to call a nurse.

Clothing and Linens

Linens (blankets, sheets, pillows) and patient attire will be changed daily or as needed. If you require additional items, please contact the nursing staff. Please note: Do not wash or dry personal linens in the patient room. All items provided in the room, such as towels, clothing, weight scales, slippers, and hangers,... are hospital property. After use, please return them to their designated places and do not remove them from the patient room.

Patient’s Personal Medications and Hospital Storage

Any medications brought in by the patient must be handed over to the nursing staff for safekeeping. If the medication is determined to be not permitted for use in the hospital, it will be returned to the patient upon discharge or given immediately to a family member to take home. In some cases, a patient’s personal medication may be used if the required medication is unavailable in the hospital pharmacy, if the medication was purchased at Vinmec International General Hospital Pharmacy, or if the medication meets visual inspection and storage condition requirements and has been approved for use by the Vinmec International General Hospital Pharmacy.

Pain Management During Inpatient Treatment

At Vinmec hospitals, pain-free treatment is a top priority for patients throughout their hospital stay. Vinmec has researched and implemented pain-free treatment methods, utilizing advanced pain relief and anesthesia techniques to enhance surgical outcomes.

During diagnosis and treatment, if you experience pain, your pain level will always be assessed, and safe pain management methods will be applied. This ensures a more comfortable recovery, reduces the risk of chronic post-surgical pain, and promotes faster health restoration.

For maternity patients, Vinmec’s anesthesiologists provide pain-free postpartum pain relief using a regional anesthesia technique that does not involve opioids. This allows mothers to walk and care for their newborns quickly after birth while preserving lactation function.
