Uses of Zytopic

Zytopic is a medication used to treat skin conditions that are responsive to corticosteroids. Improper or prolonged topical use of this drug also carries the risk of systemic side effects.

1. What is Zytopic?

Zytopic drug with the main ingredient is Triamcinolone, used topically to relieve symptoms of inflammation on the skin. Triamcinolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid containing fluorine, which has anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and anti-allergic effects. Triamcinolone is used to help relieve symptoms such as redness, itching, swelling, or other discomfort caused by skin conditions that respond to corticosteroids.

2. How to take Zytopic

Zytopic is used according to the following steps:
Wash your hands with soap and clean water before/after using this medicine. Apply a thin layer of the drug to the damaged skin to be treated. Gently rub the medication over the skin, usually 2 to 3 times per day. If you are using it on or near your face, protect your nose and eyes and avoid applying the medicine to these areas. Do not bandage or wrap the area being treated because it increases absorption, unless directed by your doctor. If this medication is being applied to swaddled areas in an infant, do not use diapers or tights unless directed to do so by your doctor. If your doctor prescribes a bandage to apply to the area, you need to know how to use it. Sealing the lesions increases the amount of medicine absorbed through your skin, so use them only as directed. This medicine is indicated for topical use, avoid applying it to areas of skin with cuts, scrapes or burns. If medication gets on these areas, rinse immediately with water. It is very important when taking medication that you use it only as directed by your doctor. Do not use more, on a regular basis, or for a longer time than directed by your doctor. Doing so may increase the risk of unwanted side effects or skin irritation.

Consideration should be given to the use of this drug if large ulcers are present. During treatment, it is necessary to periodically check to see the response to the drug and may have blood and urine tests to check for unwanted effects. If symptoms do not improve within a few weeks of taking the medicine or they get worse, check with your doctor.
