Itchy eyelids are a symptom of any condition that causes irritation, inflammation, or infection of the eyelids. Allergies, infections, and even lack of sleep can cause itching around the eyelids. Blepharitis is a common cause of sore, itchy eyelids. Blepharitis usually does not affect vision, and most cases go away on their own within a few days.
