Protomac 40 belongs to a class of selective proton pump inhibitors with the main ingredient pantoprazole. It is commonly used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and to prevent peptic ulcers caused by NSAIDs or pathological hypersecretory conditions (Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).
