Hemorrhoids are formed by dilating and bulging veins in the anus. External hemorrhoids are when the hemorrhoids are outside the dentate line, whereas the hemorrhoids are inside the dentate line is called internal hemorrhoids. People are divided into internal hemorrhoids mainly because each type of hemorrhoids has different treatment methods.
