Monitoring thyrotropin and thyroid hormone levels may be clinically useful when assessing the risk of developing chronic kidney disease in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease; however, future studies are needed to specifically address the risk of chronic kidney disease in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and hypothyroidism.
