Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a major economic burden as it significantly reduces the quality of life and labor productivity of patients and is on the rise in Asian countries in general and Vietnam in particular. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in Vietnam in recent years has reached 15.4% in patients with upper digestive symptoms, higher than the frequency of gastric ulcers (8.2%) and duodenal ulcers (6.7%) (10). Hill's gastroesophageal valvular fold grading (GEPF) has been shown to be a simple and useful tool to predict GERD, better than lower esophageal sphincter pressure.
