Arixtra contains Fondaparinux, a selective factor Xa inhibitor. Fondaparinux's mechanism of action is antithrombin III-mediated selective inhibition of factor Xa. Thereby disrupting the clotting process, inhibiting thrombin formation and the development of blood clots.
