Multimodality & Multi-disciplinary treatment is implemented at every stage of cancer management, including screening, early detection, diagnosis, and ultimately, multimodal treatment. Diagnosis is performed carefully and standardized using advanced blood tests and diagnostic imaging techniques such as digital mammography, CT 640-slice, 3.0 Tesla, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, pathology, molecular biology, etc. All diagnostic methods adhere to the standards of the most reputable international professional associations, such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) for imaging diagnosis.
Before treatment, patients go through a Tumor Board composed of experts in surgical oncology, medical oncology, diagnostic imaging, pathology, stem cells and genetic technology, functional rehabilitation, psychology, nutrition, pain management, palliative care, and other relevant specialties as needed. This ensures accurate diagnosis, increases effectiveness, and minimizes adverse effects for patients. All multi-disciplinary treatment decisions are based on standard guidelines from leading global professional associations such as NCCN, ASTRO, ESMO, and ASCO.
- Advanced techniques for early diagnosis: 3.0 Tesla-MRI, 640-Slice CT, PET/CT, SPECT
- Pathology utilizing a laboratory system that meets CAP standards offset by the American Society for Clinical Pathology ensures the highest accuracy.
- Minimal invasive surgery and interventions.
- MRI-guided needle for Biopsy or Mini-invasive Procedures
- Hepatectomy, TACE, RFA in liver cancer treatment;
- Laparoscopic surgery (minimal invasive surgery), robotic surgery for gastrointestinal cancer;
- Vacuum aspiration technique for breast & thyroid tumors
- Surgical Program: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) helping patients quickly rehab and back to their normal lives and works with minimum complications rates.
- Radiation Oncology: Using high-tech radiotherapy such as: 4D, SBRT, VMAT before and after surgery.
- Palliative care and Survivorship Program for Cancer Patients
A team of highly qualified and experienced doctors who have been trained at world’s leading oncology centers in the US, Japan, and France, etc.
Member of Cleveland Clinic Connected Program – working with Taussig Cancer Center (Cleveland Clinic)
- Hematopoietic stem cell transplants for the treatment of some benign blood diseases, cancer treatment, some solid tumors, autoimmune diseases, metabolic diseases.
- Support for cancer treatment with immunotherapy, and thermotherapy CAR-T cell therapy for hematological malignancies.
- Oncology Department of Vinmec has Dedicated Clinical Pharmacy team who works there to ensure the safety and international standards of Cancer Medications including compounding process.
- At the same time, Vinmec cooperates with the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, such as Roche Pharma and AstraZeneca in clinical trials of drugs and supplementary cancer drugs for rare diseases.
- Early screening and detection of cancer with the most modern diagnostic facilities to improve the accuracy as well as increase the effectiveness of treatment, especially for common types of cancer, which respond well to treatment, such as breast, cervical, colorectal, oral cavity, pharynx, stomach, lung, liver, lymph node cancers, etc;
- Surgery and Laparoscopic surgery (minimal invasive surgery);
- The application of the most modern and advanced radiotherapy techniques in the world:
- Volumetric Arc Radiation Therapy (VMAT) technique increases tumor response, reduces complications of healthy tissue, reduces treatment time, and radiation exposure.
- 4D radiotherapy: active control of tumor mobility caused by breathing, significantly reducing side effects, increasing possibility of tumor elimination and treatment effectiveness. Vinmec is the first hospital in Vietnam to apply this technique, and highly experienced in 4D radiotherapy for breast cancer, esophagus cancer, pancreas cancer, biliary tract cancer and liver cancer, etc.
- Total Body Irradiation (TBI) therapy, radiation to the whole lymph node system (Total Lymphatic Irradiation – TLI), or radiotherapy to each lymph node area combined with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, to enhance the effective treatment of cancer.
- Complex radiotherapy techniques: 4D-VMAT, 4D-IMRT, multinucleated brain metastasis radiotherapy with hippocampal preservation (preserving memory, learning ability), radiotherapy under anesthesia for pediatric patients …
- Other radiotherapy techniques: 3D-CRT, 4D-RT, IMRT, VMAT, IG-IMRT, SBRT.
- Chemotherapy, targeted treatment of head and neck, lung, stomach, breast, liver, colorectal, uterine, ovarian, and blood cancers, etc.
- High-dose chemotherapy combined stem cell transplantation for hematopoietic cancers: Combined with the Center for Stem Cells and Gene Technology for the treatment of malignant lymphomas, multiple myeloma, acute leukemia, aplastic anemia, etc.
- Autologous Immune Booster Treatment
- Pain management: Pain management with modern and effective methods, pain counseling, oral or injected drugs, physical therapy, peripheral nerve block, and sympathetic blockade.
- The consultation unit and inpatient unit meet international 5-star standards. In particular, the consultation units: General, head and neck, and gynecology and obstetrics, are fully equipped and up to the standard to ensure that patients are monitored, examined, and cared for comprehensively before, during, and after radiation therapy.
- Day treatment area for chemotherapy patients with comfortable facilities
- Modern isolation room system, ensuring sterility for patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
- The Department of Radiation Therapy is synchronously equipped based on the standards of major radiotherapy centers in the world like the US and Japan.
- Clinac iX accelerator (Varian, USA) is a modern radiotherapy system that ensures the beam is irradiated to the tumor accurately, delivers the maximum dose to the tumor, and protects the surrounding healthy tissues.
- The Truebeam NDS120HD V2.7 accelerator is integrated with HyperArc non-coplanar multi-dimensional radiosurgery function to make the radiation process more accurate, shortening the time spent in the radiotherapy room than previous models without HyperArc technology.
- Eclipse v13.0 radiotherapy planning system (Varian – USA) allows planning VMAT, SBRT, and 4D-RT quickly and accurately.
- Our Optima CT580 RT system with virtual simulation (GE – USA) allows performing simulated CT scan procedures with almost all special fixed kits for each imaging area.
Fully equipped, synchronous, and modern fixed kits from Qfix – USA (for routine radiation) and CIVCO – USA for high-tech radiotherapy for all radiotherapy positions such as head – neck, thorax – abdomen, pelvis, extremities, minimizing displacement as well as increasing treatment accuracy.
CIVCO’s ProLock immobilizer and respiratory monitoring system (RPM, Varian – USA) allows performing Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and 4D-RT safely, accurately, and effectively for patients with cancer of the liver, lung, esophagus, breast, stomach.
