Prof. Dr., People's Physician - Pham Duc Huan is an expert in digestive surgery, having successfully performed over 1,000 cases of laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer, over 1,000 cases of laparoscopic surgery for esophageal cancer, and over 500 cases of total and partial laparoscopic gastrectomy.

Assoc. Prof. Dr., People's Physician - Pham Duc Huan is one of the pioneer surgeons who successfully deployed and applied almost all types of laparoscopic surgery for general surgical diseases of the digestive tract, such as: Laparoscopic esophagectomy for cancer, laparoscopic surgery for benign esophageal tumors, laparoscopic surgery for achalasia, total laparoscopic gastrectomy, partial gastrectomy, laparoscopic resection of the pancreatic body and tail, laparoscopic colectomy, rectal resection, and treatment of many other general abdominal surgical diseases. Assoc. Prof. Pham Duc Huan is also an expert in anorectal diseases, being the first person to implement the Longo procedure for treating hemorrhoids in Vietnam.

Assoc. Prof. Dr., People's Physician - Pham Duc Huan is the former Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, former Head of the Department of Digestive Surgery at Viet Duc University Hospital, and former Head of the Department of General Surgery at Hanoi Medical University Hospital. He was conferred the academic title of Associate Professor in 2007; concurrently, he is also a member of the Vietnam Surgical Association, the Vietnam Association of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons, the Vietnam Anorectal Association, and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Journal of Endoscopic Surgery.

Assoc. Prof. Dr., People's Physician - Pham Duc Huan is a co-principal investigator for 1 national-level scientific project, a principal investigator for 2 sub-projects at the national level, has over 70 scientific research papers published in reputable domestic scientific journals and presented at specialized scientific conferences, and 6 articles published in international scientific journals. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duc Huan is also the co-editor-in-chief of 5 textbooks for general practitioners, 1 textbook for postgraduate training, and participated in compiling 5 university and postgraduate textbooks/curricula. Notably, Assoc. Prof. Pham Duc Huan is the editor-in-chief of the book "Pathology of Digestive Surgery" for postgraduate education, which won a National Book Award.

For his contributions to the cause of public health care, training, and scientific research, Assoc. Prof. Pham Duc Huan has been honored with many noble titles such as People's Physician, Outstanding Physician, Labor Order, Third Class, Labor Order, Second Class, Ministry-level Emulation Fighter, and more.
